Counselling at home, when travelling to a counselling room isn't possible
I understand that for some people, attending a counselling room outside of the home can be difficult, Mobility difficulties, health concerns, significant anxiety or caring responsibilities may make travelling to an appointment challenging.
In certain circumstances, I may be able to offer home visit counselling to adults who are unable to attend a counselling room.
Home visits are offered on an individual basis and are subject to an initial discussion and assessment to ensure that this is an appropriate and safe way for us to work together.
Who might a home visit be suitable for ?
A home visit may be considered if you are experiencing circumstances such as:
Mobility Difficulties that make travelling challenging.
Health or physical difficulties that affect your ability to attend appointments.
Significant anxiety that makes leaving home particularly difficult.
Other circumstances that mean you are unable to reasonably access counselling elsewhere.
Home visits are not automatically available a to everyone.
I will discuss your individual circumstances with you before agreeing to provide counselling in your home.
What happens next?
If you feel that home visit counselling may be appropriate for you, please get in touch to arrange a an initial conversation.
We'll talk about your circumstances, what you're hoping to gain from counselling and whether a home visit would be a suitable way for us to work together.
I may also discuss other options with you, such as Online or telephone counselling, if these could provide a more appropriate or accessible alternative.
Fees and travel costs
My standard fee is £50 for a 50 minute session.
Home visits may incur an additional travel charge, depending on the location and the distance i need to travel.
The total cost , including any travel charge, will always be discussed and agreed with you before we arrange your first home visit, so you will know exactly what the cost will be .
I will consider the distance and travel time involved when determining whether I am able to offer a home visit in your area.
A comfortable and supportive environment
If a home visit is agreed, I will aim to create a calm, respectful and confidential space where you can talk openly about what you are experiencing.
My approach is warm, compassionate and tailored to you.
I will listen without judgement and give you the time and space to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.
