Welcome, and thank you for visiting.

Hello, I'm Joanne.

Clients often tell me they value my calm, down-to-earth approach and that they feel able to talk openly without judgement.

I'm an accredited counsellor providing short and long-term counselling for adults across Mid Sussex and the surrounding areas.

Alongside my counselling training, my background working in the care sector has given me a deep appreciation of the emotional challenges that can accompany illness, caring responsibilities, loss, changes in health and major life transitions.

I believe that every person deserves to be heard, understood and supported.

My aim is to build a genuine therapeutic relationship where you feel safe to explore whatever is troubling you.

You don't have to face life's challenges alone.

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming.

You may be experiencing anxiety, grief, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, loneliness, or simply feel that something isn't quite right.

Perhaps you're adjusting to a significant life change, coping with loss, caring for someone you love, or struggling to make sense of difficult emotions.

Whatever has brought you here, you don't have to go through it alone.

I offer a warm, compassionate and confidential space where you can talk openly, feel genuinely heard and explore what's happening for you, helping you gain greater understanding, build resilience and move towards the changes you want for your life.

My approach

Every person is unique, so i don't believe in a "one size fits all" approach to counselling.

I tailor my approach to meet your individual needs, because no two people experience life's challenges in exactly the same way.

Most importantly, I believe that counselling works best when you feel genuinely accepted, understood and able to be yourself.

Speak in confidence.

Counselling takes place in a safe, confidential space, where you can engage with a person who listens with warmth, sensitivity and empathy, free from judgement.

Within the therapeutic space one can freely and confidentially express thoughts and feelings.

You deserve a space that is entirely for you.

Taking the first step.

Starting counselling can feel daunting, especially if you've never spoken to anyone before.

You don't need to have all the answers before reaching out.

If you're considering counselling and would like to find out more, I'd be happy to arrange an initial conversation where we can discuss what has brought you to counselling and whether I'm the right person to support you.
