I am Joanne, and I am a qualified and accredited counsellor offering both short- term and long-term therapy to adult individuals in Mid Sussex and the surrounding areas including Hassocks, Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath, Hove and Worthing.

Life presents us with challenges, overwhelming events and periods where we may lose our sense of direction or purpose leaving us feeling stressed and anxious about the future. We all experience these times of difficulty. Engaging with a trained professional can help us navigate these difficult times, leading to greater self-understanding and insight into our emotions and assisting us to reach our desired goals and outcomes.

As an accredited counsellor and member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society I am committed to ethically supporting individuals through their personal journeys.

My approach

As a Counsellor I have experience working with addiction, anxiety, low self-esteem, grief and loss, and many other issues, I bring to the counselling room extensive life experience however my approach is always tailored to suit your individual needs, understanding that each person is a unique human being.

In building a strong therapeutic relationship, my priority is to ensure that you feel supported safe and valued throughout your counselling experience. My approach is primarily person-centred however I am also able to use various other approaches including Psychodynamic, CBT, Gestalt, and Mindfulness, these approaches aid in addressing any current or past issues that you may wish to explore, moving at your own pace and direction, whether you aim to heal from past experiences, address trauma or to manage current challenges that you may be facing, I am here to support you on your journey.

I offer a confidential open-ended or short-term collaborative service.

Counselling takes place in a safe space, where you can engage with a person who listens with warmth, sensitivity and empathy, free from judgement. within the therapeutic space one can freely and confidentially express thoughts and feelings.

Difficulties such as relationship issues, anxiety, panic attacks, mood swings or depression are common challenges in daily life that can be overwhelming, counselling can assist you to understand the root causes of these problems and offers tools and strategies for managing or overcoming them.

I offer a free initial conversation to establish whether we are able to work together.

The fee is £50 per session for individuals.

Students are eligible for a reduced rate.

Additionally I may offer a discounted rate based on your individual circumstances.

Location

I am located in Hassocks, I work from the Heeler Centre in Hassocks one day a week. Additionally, I offer face to face services in Mid Sussex and the surrounding areas, Hove and Worthing.

I also offer online and telephone Counselling.

I provide home visits to clients that are unable to access the community for example due to mobility issues, Agoraphobia etc or in a care home setting
